The head of state today, October 31, submitted a corresponding draft law to parliament under No. 0231. The bill was initiated by Zelensky himself. The relevant information has already appeared on the official portal of the Verkhovna Rada.
The text of the document is not yet available on the parliament website. The draft law was submitted to the leadership of the Council for consideration.
As is known, a consular agreement regulates consular relations between states. This document between Ukraine and Russia was signed in January 1993, and became operational in November 1995. The agreement regulated the opening of consulates, the appointment and admission of heads of consular posts, as well as consular functions.
Let us recall that on October 26, President Vladimir Zelensky signed the law “On preventing and combating the legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime, the financing of terrorism and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction” in relation to politically exposed persons. This was the last step towards the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.
