The goals of the Israeli military are the destruction of the military and administrative capabilities of Hamas and the return of the hostages, the Prime Minister explained.
The second phase of Israel’s war against the Hamas terrorist movement began with the introduction of ground forces in the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this, reports The Times of Israel.
“The goals of the Israeli military are clear – the destruction of the military and administrative capabilities of Hamas and the return of the hostages home,” he said.
According to Netanyahu, the decision to launch the ground operation was made jointly by the military and security cabinets.
“Our commanders and soldiers who are fighting in enemy territory know that the country and the country’s leadership support them,” emphasized the prime minister.
He added that the soldiers he met in the field were determined to make Hamas pay for its actions on October 7.
“They are determined to eradicate this evil from the world, for the sake of our existence and, I would add, for the sake of all humanity,” Netanyahu concluded.
