Perhaps the Lviv region suffered the most from the bad weather. Due to heavy rains and downpours, 132 settlements were left without power supply. In 49 settlements the light disappeared completely, and in 83 – partially. 240 Lvovoblenergo specialists are already working to restore power, and 84 units of equipment have been involved. The head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maxim Kozitsky, reported this on Facebook.
Bad weather also led to power outages in the Rivne region, because about 30 power lines were disconnected. As Vitaliy Koval, chairman of the Rivne Regional Public Administration, reported on Telegram, the Rivne district suffered the most, and there is also a power outage in the Dubensky and Sarnensky districts. Rovnooblenergo employees are already working on downed lines, and additional repair teams are also being sent to accident sites.
And although the rain and wind do not subside, we are doing everything possible to quickly heal damaged electrical networks. The issue is under control,” Koval noted.
The State Emergency Service warned of worsening weather conditions in Kyiv and the region. In the near future, wind gusts of 25-28 m/s are expected until the end of the day. The second level of danger has been declared, orange.
The Kyiv City State Administration called on Kiev residents to stay away from billboards, power lines, large trees, and not to park cars under them. Residents of the capital were also advised to close windows tightly and remove things from balconies.
Let us remind you that on October 22 in the Kyiv region the weather broke another temperature record – the maximum daily air temperature: 21.3° Celsius. The previous record was recorded back in 1935 and amounted to 20.3 heat.
