Ukraine will not receive the promised MLRS from Germany before winter. A similar situation has developed with Marder infantry fighting vehicles.
Germany will provide Ukraine with the promised air defense system and multiple rocket launch system no earlier than November or December. Because earlier the air defense system was ordered by Egypt, now it will abandon it in favor of Ukraine. This was reported by the publication Zeit.
A similar situation developed with the ring exchange in Greece, where the country was supposed to receive 50 Marder infantry fighting vehicles from Germany.
Initially, Greece was supposed to provide Soviet models to Ukraine. However, they are mainly deployed on the islands of Greece and are unlikely to be removed until all Marder units have been delivered ready to deploy. Deliveries are also expected no earlier than fall or winter.
Moreover, the announcement of the exchange came as a surprise to the manufacturer, Rheinmetall, which wants to sell Marder directly in Ukraine.
Apparently, there are difficulties with the Mars II multiple launch rocket system. Four systems will be delivered, but of the 40 German installations, less than half are working. However, they cannot fire ammunition from the US or UK, and the required software update can also take several months.
Recall, Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, said that the five thousand helmets promised by Germany in January have not been delivered to date.
