The UK is to create the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) security institute. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced this on Thursday, October 26, Reuters reports.
Sunak said the Institute will advance global knowledge about safety technology and thoroughly research, analyze and test new types of artificial intelligence.
He expressed confidence that this technology would have the same far-reaching consequences as the industrial revolution, electrification, and the advent of the Internet.
“However, new technologies bring new threats and fears,” Sunak stressed.
According to the British Prime Minister, terrorist groups can use AI to sow fear and destruction on a larger scale.
“Criminals can use AI for cyberattacks, disinformation, fraud. And in the least likely and extreme situations, there is a risk that humanity can completely lose control over AI,” Sunak warned.
Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov said that the Ministry of Digital Development has developed a roadmap for the implementation of regulation of the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in Ukraine.
