Russian troops left behind many mines, missiles and other explosive elements, so it was necessary to wait until experts removed them all. And in Irpen, a special police operation is underway.
Residents of the communities of the Kiev region, liberated from Russian occupation, are asked not to rush home because of the large amount of ammunition left behind by Russian troops. This was announced at a briefing in Irpen on Friday, April 1, by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Enin.
“We suggest not to rush to return home. Unfortunately, the Russian troops left a lot of unpleasant surprises-mines, missiles and other dangerous elements,” Yenin said.
He urged to wait until experts neutralize the area from explosive objects.
“They have to do their job and only then can people return to their homes,” the deputy interior minister said.
Speaking about the number of victims of the Russian aggression, Enin said that in the Kiev region “the number is in the thousands.”
Meanwhile, Andrey Nebitov, the head of police of the Kiev region, said that a special police operation is being conducted in Irpin.
According to him, employees of the National Police of Ukraine are working in the area in coordination with territorial defense units, rescuers and representatives of local authorities.
“It’s very important to go through almost every house, to get into every house, because we understand that people can stay under rubble, there may be sad old people in apartments who, unfortunately, are unable to move on their own. We examine the bodies of citizens who, unfortunately, have died, we take them to mortuaries for forensic medical examination and subsequent burial, “Nebitov said.
He added that the main task is to rescue the people left behind in the city.
Earlier it was reported that in Bucha invaders mined a confectionery factory and poisoned cookies.
It will be recalled that, according to the General Staff, nearly 30 settlements have been liberated in the north of the country.
