The Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) continues to terrorize the border regions of Ukraine, in particular, the regions of Sumy and Chernihiv. State Border Service Speaker Andrei Demchenko announced this on Thursday, October 26, during a telethon.
He noted that Russia often sends its sabotage groups to the territory of Ukraine. Recently, the greatest activity of enemy DRGs was recorded in the Sumy region.
“Saboteurs are trying to enter the territory of Ukraine, but they cannot penetrate deep into the territory of our state. Our soldiers see them, immediately open fire, and then such groups retreat across the border line of the state. Anti-sabotage reserves are also immediately. sent to those places, mortars work, everything works. artillery,” said Demchenko.
He pointed out that Russian DRGs are small groups of up to ten people.
“Their main task is sabotage, exposing Ukrainian Defense Forces locations for further targeting by artillery, drones or missiles,” Demchenko said.
The spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service emphasized that saboteurs threaten not only the military, but also the civilian population.
“After all, the enemy, as we see, fired at any vehicle. They may not distinguish between a civilian vehicle or a vehicle with military personnel,” explained the spokesman.
He added that the last attempt to infiltrate the sabotage group happened a few days ago.
“Our border patrol at night recorded the movement of three people using a thermal imager. They immediately opened fire on them, and they retreated into Russian territory,” Demchenko said.

It was also reported that Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed seven boats of Russian DRGs in southern Ukraine.
