At the Ternopil Regional Clinical Hospital, thanks to a revolutionary method of removing blood clots from the arteries of the lower limb using the AngioJet thromboaspiration device, a soldier’s leg was saved from amputation. The head of the Ternopil Regional Police Department, Vladimir Trush, reported this on Telegram.
“Ternopil doctors were the first in Ukraine to remove blood clots from the arteries of the lower limb using the AngioJet thromboaspiration device,” he wrote.
This method helps to save limbs from amputation in case of chronic thrombosis and embolism.
The serviceman suffered a serious leg injury and a large number of operations. But doctors managed to restore the bleeding in the arteries of the thigh, leg and foot and saved the leg from amputation.
