Anti-corruption authorities reported suspicions of misuse of state lands to MP Robert Gorvat. This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, October 25.
“On instructions from the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, the prosecutor, with the participation of detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, informed the People’s Deputy of Ukraine about the suspicion of acquiring land plots with area of more than 320 hectares, which caused damage to the state of more than 123 million hryvnias, “said the statement.
NABU detectives, in agreement with the SAPO prosecutor, also reported suspicion of three other people involved in the commission of this crime: the former head of the Main Directorate of GeoCadastre of the State of one of the regions, the former director of a state-owned enterprise and the director of a private enterprise.
According to media reports, we are talking about the head of the subcommittee on legal support for the activities of customs authorities of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Robert Gorvat (Deputy group Trust). In 2019, he was elected to the parliament in Transcarpathia.
The investigation established that in 2016-2019, the representative of the people, influencing the officials of the Main Directorate of the State GeoCadastre of one of the regions, developed a criminal scheme for the acquisition of state lands.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the director of the state-owned enterprise renounced the right to use plots with a total area of 323 hectares and filed a corresponding application with the State GeoCadastre of the region.
After the termination of the right to use these lands, according to the criminal procedure, the head of the State Geocadastre of the region transferred these plots to predetermined individuals, who then sold them to a company controlled by scheme organizer.
As a result of the implementation of this method, the state suffered more than 123 million hryvnias in losses. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect has been decided.
