Former US President Donald Trump mixed up the names of leaders of sympathetic countries during a campaign speech on October 23. Trump called Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban the leader of Turkey.

The whole world is erupting. You know, it’s a great honor for me – there is such a person, Viktor Orban, has anyone heard of him? He is perhaps one of the strongest leaders in the world. “He is the leader of Turkey,” Trump said during a speech in New Hampshire.
He added that Orban has a “front” with Russia. At the same time, neither Turkey nor Hungary have a border with the Russian Federation.
Trump previously praised Orban and called his style of government “illiberal democracy.” Trump hosted him at the White House in 2019. Orbán was the first European leader to back Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He also publicly supports Trump in the 2024 campaign.
According to Orban, Trump is the man who can save the Western world and perhaps all of humanity.”
Let us remember that during his presidency, Trump openly praised the head of Turkey Erdogan and his style of government, calling him a “friend” and a “hellish leader.”
