The United States and its allies and partners are increasing production of the 155 mm caliber round.
The Pentagon said that the United States is capable of simultaneously providing weapons to Ukraine and Israel, especially since the countries’ defense needs contain some common positions. The spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, General Patrick Ryder, said this on Monday, October 23, at a press briefing, Ukrinform writes.
“We will be able to support Israel in meeting its needs. We will be able to support Ukraine in its needs,” Ryder said.
He noted that the situation on the battlefield in both countries is different, and in reality there are not many positions of need that are the same. At the same time, Ryder said that both countries need 155 mm shells.
“Yes, the 155 mm shell is a sphere common to both. But, speaking in general, it is only a small sphere. And we do not think that any problems will arise,” said the general.
Ryder emphasized that the United States and allied countries are increasing the production of 155 mm caliber shells.
“So we’re confident we’ll be able to meet everyone’s needs eventually,” Ryder added.
Earlier it was reported that the United States of America will transfer to Israel thousands of 155-mm artillery shells promised to Ukraine.
