Ukrainian troops are trying at every opportunity to improve their positions and push the enemy away from the line of contact.
The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel General Alexander Syrsky, held a meeting with the commanders of brigades and units in the direction of Kupyansk. Some decisions were made to strengthen the maneuver defense, said the head of the public relations service of the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vladimir Fityo, in a telethon on Monday, October 23.
According to him, Syrsky’s visit to the Kupyansk direction took place on Saturday.
“We know that in this direction the enemy is trying to attack our positions, but nothing is working for him. But the commander of the Eastern Group of Forces directly discussed the current situation with the commanders of brigades and units in this direction, certain orders were given, decisions were made to strengthen our maneuver defense ” said Fityo.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction not only defend themselves, but also, as much as possible, try to improve their positions and push the enemy back from the confrontation.
In total, in the Limansko-Kupyansky direction over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 20 attacks in the areas of Sinkovka, Ivanovka, Serebryansky forestry and Sporny.
“The enemy has carried out 13 airstrikes there in the last 24 hours. This is 10 more airstrikes than the day before yesterday,” Fityo said.
Earlier, Syrsky said the Russians were trying to cordon off Kupyansk. After the losses inflicted on him, the enemy resumed two months later and began active offensive operations.
