The mine-fighting ships Cherkassy and Chernigov are participating in the multinational exercise Joint Warrior -23-II.
Ukrainian sailors are taking part in the multinational exercise Joint Warrior-23-II, held within the territory of Great Britain. This was reported by the press service of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Monday, October 23.
It was noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces Navy was involved in practical sea operations with the mine action ships Cherkassy and Chernigov.
Participation in exercises of mine countermeasure ships and the headquarters of the tactical mine countermeasure group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces takes place as part of the comprehensive training of these units under the guidance of mentors from in the Royal Navy of Great Britain.
Participants included the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force along with the British Army. In addition to Ukraine, ships and vessels from the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Germany and Denmark are taking part in the exercises.
The main purpose of the training is to ensure that the crew and staff of the tactical mine action group achieve the appropriate level of readiness to carry out the assigned tasks, as well as the intercompatibility with the mine action units of the partners country.
In addition, issues of planning and conducting mine action according to NATO standards are being worked out. The objective is to gain operational experience in an international environment while conducting joint multinational operations.
Let’s recall that in September the United States and Denmark conducted joint exercises in the Baltic Sea using the modern SM-6 missile launcher.
