The police went to the side of the invaders at the beginning of the full Russian invasion. Now he is wanted.
Prosecutors from the Rivne Regional Prosecutor’s Office sent the court an indictment against a police officer from the Luhansk region, who was charged with high treason. The Office of the Prosecutor General announced this on October 20.
The investigation established that after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, an employee of the police department of the Shchastinsky district of the Luhansk region went over to the side of the invaders.
“The man did not come to the new location of his unit, but joined the ranks of the “Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR.” He was entrusted with the territory of the temporarily occupied Novoaidar.
The accused is currently wanted. High treason in war conditions (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is punishable by imprisonment for 15 years or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Earlier, the SBU reported suspicion of two traitors who held positions in the “Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the DPR.”
