In the Kyiv region, counterintelligence officers exposed a mobilized National Guardsman who turned out to be an informant for the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. The Russian GRU recruited the fighter because of a popular Internet gaming platform. The attacker agreed to collect intelligence information about the deployment and movement of combat units of the Offensive Guard. The traitor worked during a period when he was involved in protecting the location of military equipment, weapons and ammunition of the Defense Forces. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The occupiers were primarily interested in information about the locations of the rapid reaction units of the 4th operational assault brigade “Rubezh”. The enemy wanted to use this information to attack them with kamikaze drones.
“Mole” was detained on the territory of one of the military units of the National Guard. He has already been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 (unauthorized dissemination of information about the direction, movement of weapons, weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The perpetrator faces up to eight years in prison.
