An evacuation convoy with 42 buses carrying residents of besieged Mariupol left Berdyansk for Zaporozhye. This was announced on Friday, April 1, by the Mariupol City Council.
“The evacuation convoy from Berdyansk went to Zaporozhye. Several private vehicles accompanied 42 buses, accompanied by vehicles of the Red Cross and State Emergency Service,” the report said.
He also noted that the record number of Mariupol residents is expected to arrive today. On the buses alone there are two thousand people.
The previous day, it was reported that about 75,000 residents had been rescued from Mariupol, and about 45,000 more people had been forcibly deported by the occupiers in the so-called “DPR” and Russia. About 100,000 more remained and needed immediate evacuation.
Recall, the International Committee of the Red Cross announced a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol to Zaporozhye on April 1.
