The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, October 15, updated data on foreign citizens killed on October 7. According to these data, Hamas killed 148 citizens of states other than Israel during its attack on October 7.

Most of the dead and missing are US citizens. According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, 19 American passport holders were killed and 20 are missing.

The US State Department on Sunday announced that at least 30 US citizens were killed on October 7, and 13 people remain missing – they were probably taken hostage.

Thailand and France lost 15 of their citizens each, Ukraine and the Russian Federation 13 each, Great Britain and Argentina eight each. In total, citizens of thirty countries became victims of Hamas.

Let us recall that militants of the Hamas terrorist movement attacked Israel on the morning of October 7. They fired thousands of rockets from the Gaza Strip under their control, and then broke into the border areas of Israel, where they killed and took civilians hostage.

The Israel Defense Forces responded by launching massive strikes on the Gaza Strip. Israeli authorities officially declared that the country is in a state of war. The IDF is preparing for a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.

On October 8, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, wrote that Iranian intelligence services helped Hamas militants plan an attack on Israel. According to the publication, Iran not only shared intelligence from Hamas, but officers of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were directly involved in developing plans for the attack. Tehran denied this. US intelligence also suggests that “key Iranian leaders were surprised” by Hamas’ attack on Israel, The New York Times writes.
