Israel has resumed water supplies to the Gaza Strip, which were cut off after Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday, The Times of Israel reported, citing a senior Israeli official.
This decision was previously announced by US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, who told CNN that his colleagues in Israel informed him of it.
A US lawmaker told The Times of Israel on Saturday, citing a senior Israeli official, that Jerusalem will allow food, water and medicine into the Gaza Strip after the enclave’s siege, as Israel appears to be preparing for a ground operation to destroy. Hamas
The American lawmaker clarified that Israel does not promise to allow the supply of electricity and fuel to the Gaza Strip, which, according to him, is not subject to the same rules as the laws of armed conflict.
However, the United States has said it fears an escalation of the war between Israel and Hamas and the prospect of direct Iranian intervention.
Speaking on the CBS television channel, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said about the possibility of a new battle front on the Israeli-Lebanese border.
“We cannot rule out that Iran will decide to somehow intervene directly in the conflict. We must be prepared for all possible contingencies,” he said.
Let’s remember that the Israeli army has postponed for several days the operation on the ground in the Gaza Strip, the beginning of which was planned for the weekend.
