US President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The White House press service reported this yesterday.
So, in a conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom he regularly communicates after the Hamas attack, Biden mentioned the continued support of Israel from the United States. He also told the Israeli leader of military support and reiterated his reservations against any attempts to expand the conflict, the report said.
“As more information emerged about the brutal atrocities committed by Hamas over the past week, President Biden reiterated the need for all nations to unequivocally condemn Hamas as a terrorist organization that does not represent the -the hope of the Palestinian people,” the White House said in a statement.
At the same time, in his first conversation with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Biden condemned Hamas’ brutal attacks on Israel and reiterated that the group does not stand for the Palestinian people’s right to dignity and self-determination.
In this regard, Abbas informed Biden of his activities in the region and efforts to deliver much-needed humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip. For his part, Biden offered the Palestinian Authority his full support for this important and ongoing effort.
“President Biden detailed US efforts to engage with partners to prevent the spread of the conflict and the need to maintain stability in the West Bank and the wider region,” the White House said.
It was previously reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin found “reasons” for war with Israel. According to the head of the Kremlin, “Israel has occupied part of the Palestinian lands,” and “the United States has abandoned the settlement mechanisms in the Middle East.”
In turn, Hamas terrorists say they appreciate Putin’s “position.”
