Concerns the mobilization of students in Ukraine who are on academic leave. This category of students is subject to conscription for military service during mobilization for a special period. They can be recruited into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine if they have no other grounds for granting a deferment from conscription. This is discussed in the explanation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
However, the department noted that in the event of conscription, these students have the right to continue academic leave for mobilization. State-funded students, in the event of an academic leave, can resume their studies with the possibility of further transfer to budget-funded places, if available.
Participants in combat operations and persons continuing their studies after maternity leave and child care are guaranteed to be reinstated to places of state order.
Let us recall that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the authorities have the ability to identify citizens subject to mobilization, even if they have not updated their data in the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support. And since those liable for military service leave a “digital trace,” they will be detected.
