The court chose a preventive measure in the form of night house arrest for two employees of the Ternopil United City Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, suspected of torturing military personnel. The press service of the State Bureau of Investigation reported this on October 13.
According to the court’s decision, both accused were also removed from their positions.
The suspects are the commander and grenade launcher soldier of the security department of the Ternopil military registration and enlistment office. Both were charged with torture.
The soldier was also charged with unlawful deprivation of a person’s liberty through the prior conspiracy of a group of people, accompanied by physical suffering.
It was established that on October 6, a grenade launcher soldier, using physical force, detained and brought a local resident to the military registration and enlistment office.
Subsequently, he and another mobilized soldier were beaten at the TCC premises. A video of the beating went viral on social networks. The grenade launcher soldier and the security department commander were filmed beating men lying on their beds.
