The total cost of the winter aid package will be one billion euros, the German Ministry of Defense emphasized.
Germany is preparing a second package of military aid for the winter for Ukraine, in particular, providing for the transfer of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system. About that reports German Ministry of Defense on social network X (formerly Twitter).
This aid is aimed at protecting critical infrastructure, the German agency emphasized.
Kyiv will receive the following types of weapons from Berlin:
additional Patriot air defense systems;
IRIS-T SLM;
IRIS-T SLS;
three Gepard anti-aircraft guns.
The German Ministry of Defense added that the total cost of this aid will be 1 billion euros.
As we wrote earlier, the German concern Rheinmetall ordered 150 thousand artillery shells as part of an agreement with the Bundeswehr. Although the customer is the German government, all the ammunition is intended for Ukraine.
Earlier, Rheinmetall confirmed the delivery of the new generation Luna NG air reconnaissance system to Ukraine by the end of 2023.
