Bulgaria decided to provide arms to Ukraine

The issue of arms supplies to Ukraine should not return every two weeks, said Prime Minister Kirill Petkov.

Bulgarian authorities rejected Ukraine’s request for the supply of weapons to fight the Russian occupiers. This was reported by the local edition of The Sofia Globe on Tuesday, June 7th.

“The National Assembly has made a decision-Bulgaria will not export arms to Ukraine. The case is closed,” said the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Kornelia Ninova.

In this regard, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said today that there is already a decision of Parliament on military-technical assistance in Ukraine and it will be followed by the country’s authorities.

“I think, what we have done so far for Ukraine, at the level of supporting refugees, at the level of funds that we have invested so far in humanitarian aid, that we fix their equipment that cannot be fixed in elsewhere, let’s do it. in Bulgaria, “he said.

The Prime Minister recalled that Bulgaria supported “all measures when it comes to sanctions against Russia.”

“I think the Bulgarian state has done enough in this direction, and we will continue to support them,” Petkov promised and added that the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine should not be returned every two weeks.

Recall that in May, the Parliament of Bulgaria authorized the repair of equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The adopted package also includes humanitarian, financial and military assistance, ongoing support for Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

This decision was criticized by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, known for his pro-Russian stance.
