The Kremlin had to respond to media information about its alleged unwillingness to discuss the status of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in Kyiv.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov denied information about Russia’s refusal to discuss the status of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in negotiations with Ukraine. Interfax reported this on Tuesday, June 7th.

“No, everything is wrong. This is misinformation,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
This is how he commented on the publication in the newspaper Izvestiya, which, citing a high-ranking source in Russia, said that if Kyiv interacts with Moscow, then the new agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine will not discuss the status of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as it is closed to the Kremlin issue in the Crimea and Donbass.
According to the source, the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will not be included in the new agreement between Moscow and Kyiv, “because the majority of the region’s residents support Russia.”
Earlier, Peskov said the Kremlin was waiting for Kyiv to accept its conditions. He advised the Ukrainian leadership to “recognize the de facto situation.”
