Sergei Bolvinov, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkov region, announced this today, October 7, on his Facebook page.
Our specialists continue their work; they have already selected and processed DNA samples from sixteen relatives. Another 79 samples from unidentified bodies and fragments of remains are run through the ANDE DNA complex,” Bolvinov noted.
The Russian missile tore people apart in such a way that criminologists and investigators have dozens of such fragments – they are carefully working with each one, collecting the dead literally piece by piece,” he added.
Earlier today, Bolvinov reported that using a mobile DNA laboratory, 37 body fragments were examined overnight.
We automatically compare DNA with samples from relatives. We found 9 matches,” he noted. “Today we will be able to give the bodies of those we managed to identify to the families.
