Representatives of foreign diplomatic departments visited places of detention of abducted Ukrainian children in Belarus.
Representatives of several countries took part in the propaganda event of the Belarusian authorities and visited the places of detention of deported Ukrainian children. This was reported by the lawyer of the Regional Center for Human Rights, Ekaterina Rashevskaya.
“Representatives of foreign missions visited places of detention of deported Ukrainian children in Belarus. Representatives of Zimbabwe, India, Qatar, China, Cuba, Mongolia, UAE, Russia, Syria, as well Palestine met with 44 children from Lisichansk and Severodonetsk. From Belarus, the Union State and CIS. Other states declared a boycott and refused to participate in the event, that its holding does not comply with the principle of the best interest of the child and only aims to legitimize international illegal actions,” the message said.
In comments to the Russian media, visitors to the Novopolotsk central city hospital revealed some details that are important for justice. In particular, the first secretary of the Russian Embassy in Belarus once again testified to the imposition of Russian citizenship on Ukrainian children and the organization of the educational process for them, which does not allow them to preserve their national identity.
In addition, Karina Bagieva pointed to another business entity involved in the removal of Ukrainian children – the Naftan oil refinery. Qatar’s Charge d’Affaires Abdulaiz Al-Kuwari helped establish that Belarusian families were taking Ukrainian children. This information was also confirmed by the director of one of the Novopolotsk schools.
The charge d’affaires expressed the hope that “more children will leave Donbass,” which is in fact an incitement to continue the deportations.
“What will be the effect of visiting the place of detention of Ukrainian children? At least 1) to expand the list of sanctions at the expense of another economic entity, 2) to add to the list of international violations humanitarian and international human rights law enacted by the Security Council and the Russian Federation,” Rashevskaya said in the statement, adding that after an internal investigation, the ICRC demanded the expulsion of the head of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, Dmitry Shevtsov, from his post, who claimed that all children from Donbass are being returned home.
Earlier it was reported that Belarus is preparing an event on kidnapped children.
Let’s remember that in May it became known that Belarus participated in the deportation of children from Ukraine, and not only to Russia.
And in August, the formal leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that his country would continue to remove children from Ukraine.
