President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced this.
After today’s negotiations with Zelensky, the Madrid government has decided to provide Kyiv with six Hawk launchers. They will be needed to counter possible Russian bombing of civilian targets and critical infrastructure, as well as to protect the new grain corridor.
In addition, on October 5, the head of state met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Germany is working to provide Ukraine with an additional Patriot system for the winter months, Zelensky noted following the meeting.
He thanked Germany for its support in protecting Ukrainian freedom and people. He added that it is also a defense of Europe and common values.
Let us remind you that the President of Ukraine on Thursday made his first trip to Spain since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. The summit of the European Political Community is currently taking place in Granada, Spain.
