Energy experts warn that the winter of 2023-2024 will be very difficult, because the equipment that was destroyed last winter will not be restored in a year.
Based on last year’s experience, Ukraine has prepared an action plan in case of prolonged power outages in the country. This was announced on Tuesday, October 3, by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Igor Klimenko.
He clarified that under his leadership, the first meeting of the Coordination Headquarters was held for quick response and ensuring the normal living conditions of the population during a possible power outage.
“The main goal is a timely response to all emergency situations that will occur in the country,” said Klimenko.
Klimenko noted that we are entering a difficult autumn-winter period, where we must be prepared in all directions.
“Based on last year’s experience, we have prepared an action plan in the event of a prolonged power outage,” he noted.
He explained that we are talking about strengthening patrols by police groups, providing generators to medical institutions and critical infrastructure facilities, the functioning of “invincibility points” and so on.
Let us remind you that the Chairman of the Board of NEC Ukrenergo Vladimir Kudrytsky said that the Ukrainian energy system will survive this winter.
