The state-owned enterprise Antonov has signed an agreement with the French company Turgis & Gaillard to produce these drones. The agreement was agreed upon during the visit of French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecorn to Kyiv. This was reported by the French publication La Tribune.
It is noted that both companies still have to determine where the UAVs will be assembled. It should also be agreed which French and Ukrainian components are needed for the production of drones. Aarok will not be produced for export; it will be created only for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
President and founder of Turgis & Gaillard Fanny Turgi said that the parties intend to launch a jointly produced drone in 2024.
As you know, Aarok is a MALE type drone that can perform both reconnaissance and combat missions. The drone can be used for maritime surveillance and patrol.
Let us recall that in September Reuters reported that Antonov opened a center for the production of drones. In the past, the concern had already produced UAVs, but its main activity was cargo aircraft.
