Today, October 3, the American leader and his allies coordinated ongoing support for the Ukrainian people. The meeting took place a few days after the US Congress passed a temporary government spending bill that, in particular, did not include aid to Ukraine. This was reported by CNN with reference to a statement from the White House.
The Biden administration noted that the conversation was attended by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Polish President Andrzej Duda, Romanian President Klaus Johannis, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna.
The Office of the Polish President said on Twitter that the conference call lasted an hour and the main topic was Ukraine. According to Andrzej Duda, Biden called for continued assistance to the Ukrainian people.
The American leader also emphasized reasonable behavior in the face of the provocations that we face from Belarus and the regime of Alexander Lukashenko. He stressed that in such situations Poland can be confident in NATO support.
Let us recall that on October 2, the White House announced that the United States of America would announce another aid package for Ukraine to reaffirm its continued support for the “brave Ukrainian people.”
