Three years ago, Yevgeny Shevchenko reported that ex-Minister of Ecology Nikolai Zlochevsky provided a bribe in the amount of $6 million. leadership of anti-corruption authorities
The mediator was the former first deputy head of the Kyiv tax office, Nikolai Ilyashenko.
Today the court pronounced a verdict against the ex-tax official – he was given a 3-year suspended sentence. The man must also transfer 50 million UAH to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result, all the accused received convictions and criminal records, but no one went to prison. At the same time, the case brought about 1 billion UAH for the needs of the military, reports the Anti-Corruption Center.
The panel of judges ultimately decided that the role of the whistleblower in these criminal proceedings is decisive.
Considering that the crime was exposed three years ago and the exchange rate has dropped significantly during this time, in the end I should receive not 500 thousand dollars, but “only” 350 thousand, writes Evgeniy Shevchenko.
