Now the Ukrainian military trains in aviation simulators, and the next step is flying real planes.
As part of American F-16 fighter training, Ukrainian pilots fly in aviation simulators. The spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuri Ignat, announced this in a telethon on October 2.
“They are already flying in aviation simulators – it’s not a simulator, it’s actually a full-fledged aircraft: a moving cockpit that perfectly simulates the F-16 cockpit. The next stage is, accordingly, flying with an instructor in real aircraft,” he said.
According to an Air Force spokesman, information about the exercise is not normally public.
“Our partners don’t want to talk about it, they’re just doing their job, and our pilots are learning,” the spokesperson emphasized.
Ignat also recalled that new groups of pilots were formed in Ukraine, which would then go for fighter training.
“This is where the pilots do their homework to study (English, – ed.) language and adapt to the F-16 using simulators,” he said.
We remind you that in September Ukrainian pilots completed familiarization training with Swedish Gripen fighters.
