The Russian occupiers, in a rather strange way, are trying to protect their aircraft from attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The enemy probably doesn’t trust his air defenses because he’s started drawing airplanes in parking spots. In particular, at the Engels airbase in the Saratov region of Russia, local “craftsmen” painted silhouettes of the Tu-95 TC strategic aircraft. So the enemy obviously wants to protect the bombers from drones and missiles. These drawings should act as decoys. This was reported by The War Zone.
In satellite images taken by Planet Labs, it is easy to distinguish real Tu-95MS bombers from painted ones. Fake planes can be detected by the absence of a shadow.
In addition, even commercial satellites have sufficient resolution to accurately see that in front of them is a decoy target, and not a parked aircraft.
Let us recall that on September 24, the Khalino airfield in Russian Kursk was attacked by a drone that crashed into the headquarters with officers. As a result, the commander of the 14th air regiment, one of his deputies, a group of aviator officers, a representative of the FSB military counterintelligence and airfield workers were killed or injured.
