The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense announced the transfer of sets of radar equipment to Ukraine. This assistance is intended to provide maritime surveillance and develop maritime spatial awareness capabilities. Previously, the Ukrainian Navy asked for equipment. LRT reports this.
For Ukraine, which is being destroyed by Russia’s war, this radar equipment will be of great importance both for the protection of its territorial waters and for ensuring the safety of its citizens, emphasized Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas.
The Lithuanian minister did not name the cost and number of equipment sets.
As you know, Lithuania has formed a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 200 million euros for the period 2024-2026. The allies will train the Ukrainian military, receive wounded soldiers and provide treatment and rehabilitation.
Let us remind you that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Canada will provide benefits to Ukraine in the amount of 650 million Canadian dollars (over 482 million US dollars) for the next three years. Part of these funds will go towards the production of 50 armored vehicles and 50 ambulances, which will be built in the province of Ontario.
