Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko congratulated journalists on their professional holiday.
On Monday, June 6, Ukraine celebrates Journalist Day. The journalist, Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko greeted his colleagues on their professional holiday. He noted that this year this day is not a holiday at all, as 32 journalists have died since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“This year, Journalist’s Day has a special taste of bitterness. It’s the fourth month of a massive war – and we’ve lost 32 journalists … In the eight years of the war, we’ve lost even more. Forever memories of our fighters on the advanced information front, “Tkachenko wrote in the Telegram.
He also noted that all journalists working 24/7 today are real heroes, because they are waging a hybrid war, the first on a massive scale in world history.
“Your role today is very important. As well as your responsibility, your dedication, perseverance and courage. Journalists from various media groups are now working on the united front of the united news marathon, by the way, have demonstrated their ability to negotiate, cooperate and thus put, above all, the only primary goal is our success, ”the statement said.
