Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak signed an agreement with the American corporation Lockheed Martin to buy 96 Apache attack helicopters. This was announced yesterday by the Polish Ministry of Defense. Twitter.
The agreement provides for the purchase of Polish Apache helicopters, as well as the creation of a service center for them at the WZL-1 plant in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz in the north of the country.
“Poland will soon have 96 Apaches. This will be the largest fleet of these helicopters outside the United States,” Blaszczak said.
Poland is expected to receive the first American helicopters in 2024. They will be transferred from the sources of the US Army.
In early September, Washington agreed to sell Apache helicopters and related equipment to Warsaw. The deal is worth $12 billion.
