During the counteroffensive, the Ukrainian Army will be able to achieve a significant operational breakthrough on the southern front line.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces will succeed if the Russian occupiers do not have the necessary reserves and combat power to support their defense in the western part of the Zaporozhye region. Also, the breakthrough will be successful if the Ukrainian military retains sufficient combat power to continue the offensive after the combat power of the Russian army is depleted. This is discussed in a new report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts say Russian defense positions across the current battle area are not as heavily mined and well prepared as the fortifications that the Defense Forces have already breached.
Experts also believe that the Russians do not have sufficient forces deployed in the western Zaporozhye region in Ukraine to fully staff their layered defense.
However, ISW noted that the hypothesis would not be valid if any of these assumptions were incorrect, adding that “there are indications that these assumptions remain valid at the time of writing.”
Let us remind you that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the Russian occupation army was trying to restore the lost position in the area of Avdeevka and Kleshchievka, Donetsk region. However, all the enemy’s efforts in the Bakhmut and Andreevsky directions were in vain, because the Ukrainian defenders gave battle to the enemy.
