Bild believes that the problem for Kyiv is the long training period for the Ukrainian military.
It takes the Ukrainian military about three months to learn how to launch Taurus missiles. This was reported by the German publication Bild.
The German government has been discussing the possibility of supplying Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles for several months. But even if the missiles will be delivered to Ukraine in the near future, the problem is the long training period for the Ukrainian military, the media notes.
“All the arguments of the Chancellor’s department for the delay (delivery of the Taurus – ed.) are invalid now. Mind dictates that the Taurus should be delivered immediately. We saw how important cruise missiles are for Ukraine recently after the attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” said VDP party defense expert Markus Faber.
The missiles are manufactured at the MBDA plant in Schrobenhausen. They believe it will take about three months to prepare the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the Taurus launch.
“The Ukrainians first asked for (Taurus missiles – ed.) more than four months ago. This time could have been used to successfully complete the training,” said Faber.
We remind you that the German government has not yet decided whether it will supply the Taurus to Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine is confident that this decision will not be made “throughout the year.”
