Polish President Andrzej Duda said in an interview with TVP1 that Warsaw’s decision to introduce a unilateral ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products was correct. The politician’s words were quoted by the PAP agency on September 24.
“I consider the decision of the Polish government to maintain the ban on the sale of Ukrainian grain on the Polish market correct. However, I am very sure that everything must be done to ensure the highest possible transit,” Duda emphasized .
According to him, Ukrainian grain “did not reach those countries that needed it,” but ended up in markets such as Poland.
“The Polish government needs to take radical measures to support Polish farmers and protect our market and agriculture,” added the head of state.
He also noted that Warsaw has prepared special transit corridors, thanks to which Ukrainian grain can be brought “where it is really needed.”
We remind you that on September 15, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary unilaterally introduced a national ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine.
