Armenia’s opposition is carrying out mass protests to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said law enforcement agencies will respond firmly and swiftly to opposition rallies in the country. This was reported by RosSMI.
According to him, arrests have and will continue to occur, and those responsible for the riots will be brought to justice.
Pashinyan called on the Armenian population to remain calm and not exceed the boundaries of the law.
“If not, proportionate and strict measures will be taken. All relevant authorities have received instructions from me,” he said.
As is well known, the Armenian opposition started mass protests on September 19 to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“We are starting mass actions of disobedience, which must be joined by the residents not only of Yerevan, but also of the regions. The issue must be resolved here,” one of the opposition leaders, the first Prime Minister of Armenia (1990- 1991), said at an opposition rally in Republic Square in the center of Yerevan ) Vazgen Manukyan.
Earlier, the Armenian opposition announced the creation of a national committee that will coordinate actions to remove Pashinyan and his government from power. As Dashnaktsutyun party representative Ishkhan Saghatelyan said, in addition, the parliamentary opposition is starting the impeachment process against Pashinyan.
