The Ukrainian head of state spoke with the President of Brazil for the first time on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Brazilian leader Lula da Silva and discussed efforts to restore peace. The Ukrainian leader announced this on Thursday, September 21, on Telegram.
Zelensky called the meeting with the Brazilian president important, and the conversation itself “honest and constructive.”
After the talks, diplomats from Ukraine and Brazil were tasked with working on relations between the states and efforts to restore peace.
Brazil will continue to participate in Formula World meetings.
Earlier, the President of Brazil said he sought to maintain neutrality in Russia’s war in Ukraine. Finally, he condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
