The Ministry of Defense has identified five clusters that require priority attention: air defense, artillery, aviation, navy and armored vehicles.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov summarized the results of the 15th meeting in the Ramstein format and said that we have agreed with our partners to launch the initiative to create the Capabilities Coalition.
“The main goal is to prepare the Ukrainian Defense Forces of the future,” Umerov said.
According to him, for this, the Ministry of Defense has identified five clusters that require priority attention: air defense, artillery, aviation, navy and armored vehicles.
Umerov called on partners to continue to support Ukraine and outlined priority needs. According to him, the partners reaffirmed their commitments to support Ukraine.
“I am grateful to the participants for their unwavering support for Ukraine. Our army, even after nineteen months of hard fighting, remains highly motivated, and Ukrainians do not intend to surrender,” added the minister.
Umerov emphasized that Ukraine, Estonia and Luxembourg launched an IT coalition within the Ramstein format.
The mission of the IT coalition is to provide a secure and resilient IT infrastructure for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and Defense Forces, which will enable Ukraine to be more effective on the battlefield. The partner countries will provide support to the Defense Forces in the areas of IT, communications and cyber security.
“Our goal is to create a unified digital ecosystem for combat command and control and defense resource management for the Defense Forces,” the minister explained.
He also said that the result should be better coordination, more effective use of defense forces and the use of capabilities provided by partner countries.
In addition, Umerov spoke about a number of productive meetings with defense ministers within the framework of the Ramstein format meeting.
He thanked his colleagues from the USA, Great Britain, Romania, Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Slovakia and Norway for their meaningful discussions. Umerov expressed hope that the results of these meetings will soon be felt by our soldiers at the front.
We remind you that today a meeting in the Ramstein format has started in Germany. For Rustem Umerov as Minister of Defense of Ukraine, this is his first.
Earlier, the head of the US Department of Defense assured Ukraine that the allies are committed to further increasing the combat potential and training level of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also emphasized that the West will do everything possible for the success of Ukraine.
