This was reported by the press service of the Kharkov Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
It is noted that the Grom-E1 was created on the basis of the Soviet X-38 missile. The maximum destruction range can be 120 km.
The Grom-E1 is a hybrid of a glide bomb and a missile, and has wings that open in the air, which is designed to provide range and accuracy. The Grom-E1 uses an inertial and satellite navigation system for guidance; it can be used to strike “vulnerable ground targets with known coordinates.” Reports of the use of these missiles by racists began to appear in March.
Today at about 13.00 the Russian military launched a missile strike on Kupyansk. It was at this time that a car with volunteers evacuating the civilian population was moving along the bridge that had come under fire.
As of 18.00, it was established that four men and two women were killed. The number of victims is being specified. Fragments of the rocket were recovered from the scene.
We continue to retrieve the dead from the nearby river and destroyed cars. The Russians launched the shelling in the middle of the day, around 1 p.m. Our investigators, criminologists and explosives experts are working at the scene of the incident, an inspection is underway,” noted Sergei Bolvinov, head of the Investigation Department of the State Directorate of Police in the Kharkov region, on his Facebook page. “And, unfortunately, we find more bodies.” Therefore, the number of victims will be updated.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into violation of the laws and customs of war, coupled with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code).
