Serious American politicians have called for providing Ukraine with ATACMS long-range missiles.

Four senior senators from the Republican Party, against the backdrop of the upcoming visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to the United States, called on President Joe Biden to provide the Armed Forces with these weapons. This military assistance would require only a small portion of the U.S. arsenal, the senators said. Bloomberg reported this.

Ukraine has significantly weakened Russia’s combat power and only needs a small portion of our ATACMS stockpile, the senators said.

According to these politicians, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have “achieved breakthroughs” and the transfer of long-range missiles will “maximize the likelihood of success for Ukraine in its current counter-offensive and subsequent operations.”

Meanwhile, a representative of the US presidential administration added that during Zelensky’s visit to Washington, additional arms supplies will be announced, but ATAMCS missiles are not on this list.

Let us recall that the day before, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Ukraine will have the right to independently choose targets for ATACMS missiles. At the same time, the United States does not allow the use of its weapons systems outside of Ukraine, but the decision will still be up to Kiev.
