Joe Biden has asked Congress to approve about $40 billion in additional spending, including $24 billion for Ukraine to continue supporting it in its fight against Russia.
Despite political differences among representatives of the US Congress, a bill for a new $24 billion aid package for Ukraine is likely to be passed. US Presidential National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said this on Friday, September 15, Ukrinform reports.
“Based on our consultations on Capitol Hill, we believe there remains strong bipartisan support in both chambers for continued funding for support to Ukraine,” he said.
Sullivan emphasized that Republicans and Democrats are united in the opinion that the United States cannot refuse help to Ukraine at such a critical moment.
“The administration is confident in its continued support for the bill to provide additional funding to Ukraine,” Sullivan said.
We remind you that Ukrainian diplomats are now working on the issue of extending the Lend-Lease law to the United States.
President Vladimir Zelensky will visit Congress during his visit to Washington next week.
