Before the Russian invasion, Mariupol paid attention to pediatric medicine, but now everything is destroyed.
There was no children’s department in the hospitals in occupied Mariupol. Residents under occupation complain that there is no place for children to be treated, and in case of extreme conditions they have to be taken to Donetsk. This was reported by the Mariupol City Council.
“The child suffered from Quincke’s edema, we visited three hospitals, they raised their hands everywhere, there was no help,” the parents complained.
The City Council notes that before the Russian invasion of Mariupol, great attention was paid to pediatric medicine, but now everything has been destroyed.
“In Ukrainian Mariupol, we created modern children’s outpatient clinics, opened a Children’s Consultative and Diagnostic Clinic and a children’s regional infectious diseases center. Modern equipment was installed everywhere . The occupiers destroyed more than half of the hospitals, took away the living equipment. And now there is no place to treat children, because the occupiers deliberately during the blockade “They destroyed any opportunity for safety. Now they continue to passively kill people because of the medical crisis in the city and the lack of professional help,” said the mayor of the city, Vadim Boychenko.
It was previously reported that in Mariupol you can only get insulin with a Russian passport.
