The businessman is suspected of organizing a group that forged documents to illegally obtain funds from PrivatBank.
On Thursday, September 14, Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky announced a new, and third, suspicion. This is connected with the misuse of PrivatBank funds, said Sergei Leshchenko, adviser to the head of OP.
He noted that the suspicion was revealed after a corresponding investigation conducted by the Bureau of Economic Security. Currently, a pre-trial investigation against Kolomoisky is ongoing.
This time Kolomoisky was suspected of:
-
in organizing the falsification of documents for the transfer of funds;
-
in organizing the seizure of other people’s property by an organized group, on a large scale;
-
in obtaining and disposing of property where the actual circumstances indicate its receipt by criminal means.
“The pre-trial investigation established that Kolomoisky organized and led an organized group. It also included the head of the Moscow branch of PrivatBank, Sergei Volkov, and other officials of the Moscow branch and the Head Office of PrivatBank ,” said Leshchenko.
He noted that Kolomoisky was given the suspicion in the detention center in the presence of a lawyer.
We remind you that on September 7 it became known that Igor Kolomoisky was suspected of embezzling 9.2 billion hryvnias from PrivatBank. He and five other people were placed under suspicion.
And on September 2, the SBU reported that Kolomoisky was suspected of laundering large amounts of funds by transferring them abroad. The suspicion was announced under two articles of the Criminal Code – fraud and legalization of property obtained by criminal means.
Kyiv’s Shevchenkovsky District Court arrested Kolomoisky and arrested him with the possibility of posting a record bail.
