The Russian operational-tactical missile system entered service with the 465th Missile Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
In 2023, Belarusian military personnel received from the Russian Federation two batches of Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems, which entered service with the 465th missile brigade. According to the Belarusian Gayun monitoring group, some of the equipment has been used before.
It was noted that the 465th missile brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus is deployed in the city of Osipovichi, Mogilev region.
Observers recalled that on February 1, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced the start of the Iskander-M OTRK operation. At the same time, the unit to which the equipment was transferred was not named.
“It is significant that the first Iskanders received by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus were previously operated by the Russian military… for at least seven years,” the material said.
The second batch of OTRK arrived in Belarus on August 30. Then the military emphasized that this was not the last delivery of equipment from the Russian Federation.
According to the monitoring group, currently the Armed Forces of Belarus may have at least six Iskander-M self-propelled launchers.
