North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said his visit to Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin was of “strategic” importance. This was reported on Wednesday, September 13, by the North Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA).
The agency called the purpose of Kim Jong-un’s visit to Russia “to advance the relations of friendship and cooperation between North Korea and Russia to a new height.”
Kim Jong-un arrived at the railway station of Khasan (Russia) on a special train the day before.
The North Korean leader is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 13.
The meeting between the two dictators was supposed to take place at the annual Eastern Economic Forum. There, they are expected to reach an agreement on the transfer of North Korean weapons to the Russian Federation, including artillery ammunition.
