One of the world’s most active volcanoes is spewing lava for the third time this year. There is no threat to people yet.
Kilauea volcano erupts on Hawaii’s Big Island. Reuters reported this on September 11, citing the US Geological Survey.
It is noted that the eruption was preceded by a period of strong seismicity. Webcam images show fissures at the base of the crater, with lava flowing from them.
The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency said on social media X that the eruption does not pose a lava threat to communities, but volcanic particles and gases can cause breathing problems.
The agency recalled that this is Kilauea’s third eruption this year. The previous ones took place in January and June.
